Eurovisión 2023: Wild Youth representará a Irlanda interpretando "We Are One"

Wild Youth, es decir, David Whelan, Conor O'Donohoe, Ed Porter y Callum McAdam, han sido seleccionados en "The Late Late Show Eurosong" para representar a Irlanda en el Festival de Eurovisión 2023 en Liverpool el próximo mayo. La canción elegida es "We Are One".

Los chicos formaron la banda en 2016 en Dublín y lanzaron su sencillo debut "All Or Nothing" en 2017. Tras el éxito de su primer sencillo, Wild Youth realizó una gira con superestrellas como Niall Horan, Westlife y Lewis Capaldi. La banda ganó el prestigioso billete directo a Eurovisión tras su victoria en el programa creado ad hoc. Wild Youth obtuvo las mejores calificaciones del jurado nacional y el televoto público y quedó en segundo lugar con el jurado internacional, anotando un total de 34 puntos y superando al favorito de los fanáticos Connolly por un estrecho margen de dos puntos.

“We Are One” es una llamada a celebrar la diversidad. El título, casualmente, se remonta al eslogan de Eurovisión 2013, siguiendo los temas de unión, unidad e inclusión. Con letras como "podrías ser un líder, yo podría ser un fenómeno", Wild Youth nos recuerda que todos los humanos viven bajo el mismo sol a pesar de provenir de diferentes ámbitos de la vida.
